Wild Lives is a grade school class that explores the secret lives of wild animals living nearby. “Owl Prowl by Wild Lives” involved participants working together to track and find where wild animals are living, playing and hunting, using technology to see what they’re up to when humans aren’t around, and telling their own stories to share what they learn. Nine workshops were run each week in April and May for between 10–20 children, along with their parents/caregivers. Each week’s class has its own theme and specific hardware tools. These include a week that focuses on DIY microscopy, illustrations and observations.

50–60 people showed up for each walk and parallel Owl Prowls were planned across many other libraries in the city in late 2023. A librarian paid for by the city is reusing activities designed in the programme.
