TReND are excited to announce the second installment of their VolkswagenStiftung-sponsored “Open Labware” course on 3-D printing and electronics to build your own lab equipment. The course will be held at the Department of Physiology at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Eligibility encompasses all African-based researchers with an MSc degree or higher. In addition, this year they will also reserve a number of slots for applications from our funder’s base-country of Germany to foster international exchange.

Eligibility: We only accept group applications from any country within Africa or from Germany. A group consists of three (3) members, all of whom have to be based at the same or nearby University or research institution. Each individual candidate may only feature in one group application. MSc to Professor eligible.

Description: Successful groups will build their own fully functioning 3D printer during the course and receive basic training in their use and maintenance. In addition, we will provide training in the use of modern electronics and microcontrollers and provide each individual candidate with an Arduino starter kit.

We will also cover:

– Return plane tickets from a major airport in your country (within Africa or Germany) to Ibadan

– Accommodation for the entire 2 weeks including breakfast. Other meals are not covered.
