FabLab München e.V. is a non-profit association that provides all interested parties with an innovative work environment in the form of an “open workshop”. “Open Hardware Meetup” was a hybrid event focusing on local OSH projects to help participants learn about the fablab/makerspace and research communities, teach them about the possibilities these projects offer and how to get started. The event took place on May 17th and had 35 people listening to four talks about three open hardware projects, with live demonstrations of FabMX, a 3d printer for metal; Laser4DIY, a laser structuring device for prototyping PCBs; and Stereo Ninja, a digital stereo microscope.

During the pandemic, FabLab München started an online event series called Open Hardware Meetup, with the goal of building a local community around OSH and OScH, and this hybrid event has furthered that goal.
